Stencil Craft -Cake Decoration
Stencil Craft |
Its my mom's birthday today and last night I baked her favorite cake which is carrot cake.At home none of us like to eat cake icing yet I didnt want my mom's cake to look plain!
I won a Pie Lane challenge recently and dear Tejal whom I consider a "crafters encylcopedia "sent me some stencils and she also shared a stencil embossing tutorial with a cuttlebug.I dont own a diecut/embossing machine but decided to emboss with my stencils anyway-- in a crazy way!! I decided to try some edible stencil embossing minus the cuttle bug or the heat gun! !
How to Stencil Decorate your Cake
I am no expert at cake decoration and this was the first time I tried a stencil on the cake so in these pictures taking you along on my cake decoration adventure .
For Stencil cake decoration you need:
Icing sugar- sieve it first to remove the lumps
Stencil - metal or plastic or homemade!
A knife or spoon to spread the icing sugar on your stencil.

Do forgive the dim lit photos---this was done at midnight! And do try this type of edible craft even though my maiden attempt is a bit clumsy! I am sure you can do a better and more imaginative job at stencil cake decorating!

Wow...you cure people, you craft beautifully, and you also bake! :)
ReplyDeleteI bet your house is clean, too! LOL!
Wonderful idea. Once I made a pound cake for someone for his birthday and dusted it with powdered sugar and then put candles on top. Guess what happened when he blew out the candle?!! LOL! We had powdered sugar everywhere!
This is a wonderful idea...but I love icing...especially cream cheese on a carrot cake! Happy cooking, crafting, baking and doctoring! :)
Oh icing sugar all over-- it must have been hilarious!! Thank god I didnt put candles on our cake!
DeleteAns Susan my house is a mess 99% of the time --by mess I mean embarrassingly messy like no guest can sit or walk safely!
DeleteLike use of what we call powdered sugar for design icing. The mistake means more cake to eat. Yeah! Happy Birthday to your mother. My daughter likes chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Hubby is a Pineapple Upside-Down Cake person so no icing there. My fav cake is Cheesecake or Angel Food.
