Clay Bunny and Girl

Clay Bunny
Dear friends super excited to share  some clay models made my by little daughter[ she is not so little any more-- she is 8 now!].Like many doting mums I do buy expensive toys for my little girl but despite me and her grandmother spoiling my little girl with expensive Barbie dolls, I am proud to say my daughter has the most fun while crafting with her hands!!
Clay Bunny
My daughter has holidays now and today my husband acted as babysitter! I was so thrilled to be greeted by this cute clay bunny on clay grass when I cam home from my Clinic today!
Clay Girl
Her father gave her an old tile to put her clay models on and she was so excited we loved her clay bunny she made a Clay doll to keep her bunny company!
Clay Models
The white and pink are some new clay colors I got for her, so like any little/big girl who wants to play with new crafty goodies you see a dominance of pink and white!! Ha Ha
Clay Craft Artist!
And here is my darling Clay artist with her clay models! Do pen down a few sweet words for my kiddo....believe me she is going to want to read all the comments and ask me what each one of you had said!!

  1. Oh my goodness, what a little artist your daughter has become. She did a remarkable job and this keeps her hands and mind very busy. The bunny and doll are created beautifully. I like the hat on the doll...nice detailing. Dr. Sonia, your daughter is growing up very fast and such a pretty girl.

  13. So adorable. You must be so proud of daughter for loving crafts and choosing working with her hands rather than the store bought toys. You get all the credit for that..She is so lucky to have a talented mother. She will learn early on that you don't always have to choose between a career and a passion. You can have both.Love her bunnies,Give her a big hug from my side.

  28. First: Your daughter is a beautiful young lady! Loved that you shared her picture beside her cute creation. I think it is wonderful that she's so creative with her hands and has such imagination to 'see' what she can do with the products available. This is so sculpted & the detail she has added to the figures is very in-depth. How clever to think to sit the bunny & doll onto the grass. Give her a big hug and tell her I admire her very much. That's great work for an 8 yr old (or any age for that matter!) I am sure you are justly very proud of her abilities & artistic talent. I hope she will continue! Hugs & Happy weekend to both of you.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Jaya the clay you see on this post is from Kores-- it is fabulous for kids to work with as it really doesn't dry or crack and my daughter is forever forgetting to close the lid on her clay coloirs!
If you want to make clay craft try sculpt dry--air dry clay ;it dries nicely without cracking but colors are limited and you might have to paint the end project. Similar stuff is available in itsy bitsy.
If you want light weight clay like to use in papercrafts and really light ones which wont tax your christmas tree go for amos or super clay-- these are super soft and super sticky-- not very easy for kids to work with but adults can manage! They are more expensive compared to regular playdough but available in toy shops and stationary shops like staples
Also cheapest and best for xmas ornaments is making your own salt dough -- even your kids can join in. Only drawback is they need to be oven backed to last long!
