Partial Stamping and Free hand drawing

Partial Stamping
Hi friends Thank you so much for the encouragement on my stamped projects...I am not much of a stamper and felt so encouraged when many commented about the partial stamping idea! So sharing another project which is not very beautiful but good to illustrate the partial stamping technique.
Partial Stamping
In my last card with partial stamping ,because of the design of the stamp I was able to easily ink part of it using an ink pad...when I tried to use the border floral stamp design shown above I couldnt get a perfect partial inking because of the scrolls .I didnt want to bother about masking and wanted a quicker way. SO used an embossing dabber [ white bottle shown above] and stamped my flowers in clear embossing ink...applied gold embossing powder and used the brush to dust off powder from any stray area.
Freehand drawn leaves
After heat embossing ,  you can see how the border stamp was converted to a different stamp! Colored the flowers blue using tumbled glass Distress Ink swiped on a craft mat and misted with water. And no the leaves are not part of the stamp design...I hand drew the simple leaves using the dark green shade of Staedler water color pencil and colored inside it using the lighter mint green shade.
Watercoloring
Dipped a thin tipped paintbrush in drops of water and went over the colored areas to blend the 2 shades of green
Partial Stamping
Its was bit cloudy when I took the pictures so not able to properly capture the beauty of this simple card!

Hope you enjoyed the writeup

  4. Wow!! Love this card Sonia!! It's very beautiful!! It's good to see some hand drawn leaves. Sometimes I think, though all the stamps save us a lot of time and embarrassment, we forget that our hand written sentiments and hand drawn pictures are beautiful too!!

  6. I think you do very well with stamping and the more you do it the better it gets. We are always so hard on ourselves when it comes to judging our own work. This is another lovely card.
