3 D Decoupage Art on Recycled Wedding Card

3 D Decoupage Art
I love 3 D decoupage and recently shared a tutorial here : 3 D Decoupage tutorial . The images I used to create this 3 D decoupaged art  had been ones I had  hoarded for years  and are  freebies from a site whose link I don't have as it was saved before I blogged[ If you know please let me know so that I can link to the site].
Metallic Corner
After I created the Paper tole [another name for 3 D decoupage] ,I mounted it on a  wedding invitation card we had received and I didn't have the heart to throw away as it had gorgeous red satin paper and was as sturdy as cardboard![In India ,there is a tendency to spend big bucks on wedding invitation cards  and some are so glamorous and literally like books!]
Chunky Glitter on Metal Charm
I love this metal charm depicting "Time flies" I added some chunky bronze glitter for an extra zing!
Gold and Pearl Chain
Added a golden pearl chain I had been hoarding for ages to one corner of the board. And in the picture below you can see the side view showing all the gorgeous layers and the true 3 D look of the 3 D decoupage art work.
3 D Decoupage Art
I hope you like this simple idea of recycling gorgeous old wedding cards. This project is now on display as home decor on  my mantlepiece !

  29. Oh MY! This is just stunning, with the deep rich color of that wonderful red. Love the idea of the decoupage and the way you've brought in the red of that matting with the cute little mouse's cherries. What a clever idea to combine the decoupage effect with this elegant red - also love the brass corner treatments and the other textured embellies. Adding the string of pearls just added more dimension and elegance. TFS and always love to read a good easy to understand tutorial, so thanks for sharing that as well! Hugs & good luck with the big celebration. You are very generous to do this.
