Easy Paper Basket Tutorial

Bottle Shaped Bookmarks and Cards
Hi friends...sharing a basket of bottles!!! Made using gorgeous bottle shaped dies from Crealies.
Bottle Shaped Bookmarks and Cards
I used the same die set to make a Bottle Shaker Card earlier. The bottles are really huge and are big enough to be used as bookmarks or flashcards.
Bottle Shaped Bookmarks and Cards
I made a dozen or so bottles and made a cute basket to hold them. This basket is  pretty easy to make and  perfect if you have to whip up something handmade to hold a special  gift .You can easily vary the design and the measurements to fit the size of your gift.
Here is a quick Tutorial on how to make it:

Easy Basket Tutorial
Materials
Sturdy Card stock
Pattern paper to decorate- optional
Single Hole Punch and  2 Brads - optional as you can always use glue instead
Basket Tutorial

Take an 8 x 6 ½ inch card and score on the 8 inch side at 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 inches. Turn and on the 6 ½ inch side score at 2½ and 4 inches.Cut on the red lines as shown in the picture above and fold along the scorelines.
Basket Tutorial

Decorate the rectangles using pattern paper if you wish

Basket Tutorial

Punch holes as shown above on all six 1 inch rectangles. For a neater finish,  round the outer corners of the inner four 1 inch rectangles as shown in the picture above.

Basket Tutorial
Bring the two innermost 1 inch rectangles towards the center and using their holes as a guide, punch a hole in the central large rectangle.Bring all the other rectangles towards the center and thread a brad through their holes
and secure. Do this on the other side also and your basket is ready!
Handmade basket

My 12 year old daughter is learning about elements and compounds in Chemistry and is using the Bottle shaped cards as flashcards to help her learn chemical names.

  14. What a lovely basket, with such pretty pattern paper. Thanks for showing the tutorial on construction. The bottles as flash cards or bookmarks, is a clever idea as well as an unexpected basket image. It's just adorable. I have to admit, those frilly flowers take my eye quite a lot too! Good for your daughter at thinking out of the box to make her chemical tables flash cards too! TFS

    1. Glad you like the flowers Mary...they were a bit tricky to make as they are so lacey and delicate. And hehe usually my daughter has a very good memory but was very reluctant to learn Chemical names so I was forced to think of something innovative to egg her on.
