Easy Stamp Colouring

Easy Stamped Card
Hi friends Thank you so much for all the support on my earlier Roses card. I seem to be still in the red- black and white combo mood and this time I did manage to keep it CAS!!
Easy Stamped Card
I  have used some gorgeous stamps  which were gifted to me by Maureen[ the owner of the Rudolph Challenge ] and Jannie[owner of the Cuttlebugmania  Challenge  ].I keep a record of all the dies and stamps I have in the free version of "Evernote" and also keep a note of the "unused" stamps and dies. That way I can slowly work my way through the unused supplies instead of reaching for the same favourites again and again!
Easy Stamp Colouring
The WCMD Challenges always make me try out new techniques  especially with stamps. One technique I have just discovered is the fun and easy way to color stamps using matching dies.
Easy Stamp Colouring
The beautiful Recollections stamp and die set has 2 dies to cut the poinsettias and layer them but I found these dies perfect to easily and quickly achieve a 2 tone coloring of the flowers. Here is how you can do it with similar dies you may have. Diecut the smaller die on a piece of card...position it over your stamped card and ink with a dark color --I used fired brick Distress Inks

It looks really cool doesnt it!! You can do the same thing using masks but then...this is the easier way for lazy bums!!
Now take the larger flower diecut aperture paper and the smaller flower diecut piece...position it over the poinsettia and blend in Distress Ink or any other ink using a different color or shade.

While inking , make sure you press down the central small diecut so that it doesnt budge. If you are using different shades of the same color it doesnt matter much as you can easily correct mistakes later on too.
Easy Stamp Colouring
Lift off the card stock and you have a beautiful 2 toned flower. If there are gaps...blend in again using the lighter color and you are good to go! I was able to color all the flowers so quickly  where it would have taken ages if I was water-coloring or using some other technique!! Sometimes crafting does need to be quick and simple doesnt it!!!!
Stamped Die cut
I used holly leaves from a Winnie and Walter set to add a design to the "Wishes" die cut which was layered on a banner as a finishing touch!
Easy Stamped Card
Though a rather full card I do love it that I was able to keep it CAS !!! Yay!!!
