Well she could take a simple paper boat even as it was not a competition or anything; but those of you who have been following my blog know my daughter likes to make " extra special" school projects! [Meaning extra work for her Amma!!]
Last year we had made a Hot air balloon and this time she wanted to make a Caravan!

My Little girl was very particular that her caravan should have a door which can swing open and closed! [He-he yes a little bit of "hinge paper mechanism" could achieve that!]
Can you spy all the cute "heart" stones on our caravan?
I know my paper crafter friends must have seen many super elegant paper caravans on the net but I hope you like my little girl's cheerful kiddy style one as well!

DeleteThis little, pretty caravan is the cutest one I ever came across! Kudos to Prisha! And I'm still laughing about the extra work for Amma! I still remember those days when I was a kid and all these projects used to be my dad's headache! :D He once made a 3D aquarium out of a shoe box and hing the hand free and cut fishes with a thread attached to the top which was concealed with some pretty paper. It looked as if the fishes were really swimming! It's was a lot of hardwork and all I did was cover the shoe box with design paper. :D I just LOVE that project and still remember it with all the minor details even though I was just 6 or 7 at that time.

DeleteHow cute, Love it. I remember during my primary schooling, I also made a model of bus at the topic of Modes of Transport. :) so the syllabus is still similar..
ReplyDeleteOh Yes Khadija...basics are all the same-- it is the depth to which they go nowadays that amazes me. eg they learn about the part of the tooth and which tooth erupts at what time-- something I learnt in medical college!!
DeleteThats very pretty dear..love the door and window..lovely attempt by prisha..I know these days the children are so clear in what exactly they want to make! I too follow saachi's instructions most of the time. .like sticking out tongue of a paper plate tortoise that we made recently :)

Oh yes Lavina...the little ones know exactly what they want and they are so much more exposed to art and craft than us and are very knowledgeable!!

In this digital era of mobile phones and computers, it's really nice to see children so passionately indulge in handicrafts I think it's a challenge for us as mothers to guide our children during their tender years,keeping them away from over-use of technology and I admire you for doing it so nicely. :)
ReplyDeleteJasleen I consciously try to steer my daughter away from computers, mobile phones and the television.I dont encourage computer games at all unless its educational eg a multiplication game.For an early age I would not give the mobile phone to her since there is so much medical information discouraging young children from using the mobile plus tv is restricted to the weekends!

Oh yes I know most kids wont have the patience to tackle something like our 3 D caravan but my little girl can actually spend a whole evening crafting!!
