Recycled Paintbrush Holder

Recycled Craft
Hi friends, most of you know I have a crafty little daughter....and yes we have quite a few paints and brushes at home! But I am ashamed to confess that over the years I have had to throw away quite a few good quality paintbrushes as we didn't  take care of our paintbrushes properly being lazy to clean them well and store them properly[ makes me feel so bad!].
Recycling Craft
I have read that Paint brushes are best dried upright and there are pricey paint brush holders for the very purpose! In South India humidity can become an issue and I often keep moisture absorbers in my cupboards to prevent fungus formation. The moisture absorber had a compartmentalized lid and the crafter in me was so excited to spot that  it was ideal to upcycle into a paint-brush holder.
Golden Heat Embossed Heart
If you want to alter an oddly shaped container quickly use foam rather than paper as it is sturdier and easier to curve and stick without  wrinkling!I used the same designer foam I used in my 3 D stamped Flower Altered Box project to line the plastic container.
I used a Spellbinders  lacy heart die cut as a base for my floral arrangement. The little  fan you can see was handmade at home using resin. The gorgeous white clay butterfly is a rather special to me as its a gift from my friend Pamelia.
Fabric Rose
The fabric rose is from a broken hair clip [ it was a discolored white and I livened it up with distress inks!]. The pearl spray was handmade and I fashioned it to form a heart shaped frame around the rose!
Heat Embossed Heart
The purplish pink heart was made by heat embossing a  Winnie and Walter stamp in gold and water coloring with Distress Inks . I cut parts of the golden arrow from a Cheery Lynn  heart die cut and added it behind my pink heart!
Recycling Craft
The gold - green leaves are Winnie and Walter Stamps embossed in gold and water-colored with brush pens !
Matching Stationery Set
And here is my paint brush holder with the matching box and forming a lovely set in my craft room!

Supplies : Dies :   Cheery Lynn Heart and Arrow  , Marianne Designs Anja Leaf 3 , Spellbinders Lace Heart
Stamps : Heart from Winnie and Walter True  clear stamp set, Leaves from Winnie and Walter In Bloom Elsa's Flora Clear Stamp Set

  37. I think it is so important to have pretty storage solutions in our craft spaces. This fits the bill perfectly, as does your lovely box. What a perfect place for storing your paint brushes. I recently picked up a pretty planter pot where I am storing my brushes. Somehow it just makes me feel more like painting. :)
