Mixed Media Butterfly

Resin Art
Hi friends if you have been crafting for a long time I guess you must have accumulated a lot of bits and bobs which you don't feel like binning but don't really like using either. Sharing an idea to use up those unwanted unused paraphernalia...a mixed media collage project!
Mixed Media
Altered an old brown plastic frame to make this project. Gave multiple coatings of gesso and white paint to myriad ghastly coloured beads and odd embellishments to make the white background .To make the butterfly  I  found I didn't have a lot of pretty pink  embellishments so had fun making new flowers using snippets of shrink plastic.

Brought it all together with a sprinkling of pink flower sequins and a resin pour!

Hope you like this idea

Heart Shaped Home Decor

Hi friends my country has begun a 21 day lock-down to combat the  Corona virus situation and for me personally these are very trying times as not only am I an ENT Surgeon but so is my husband ; and my mom, who turned 73 recently, is an anesthetist. We are statistically in the  high risk category for contracting the disease .
I know many of you across the  world are in difficult situations and I can only imagine the  challenges each of you must be facing in these unprecedented times.
In this post I am not going to post any advice.......I am sure you are getting enough of that from face-book and other social media.
I am just giving you a few seconds of diversion!

This is the gift I made for my mom for her 73rd birthday . My mom loves flowers and bright cheerful colours and loves decorating her home.
I made it using an MDF heart from  Crealies . Covered the  MDF with thin pattern paper

Stenciled bricks using crackle paste and the  Crealies brick stencil .

Added lots of flowers made with Crealies  dies and foamiran

I added one of my favourite sentiments " Celebrate"  which may seem difficult  in the  present scenario but maybe we can "celebrate" life itself and remember to count our blessings in these trying times.

Added dark pink shadows in areas for highlighting

And added tiny pearls for texture

And here is how it looks

I made the  matching  card using the  Crealies  Cardzz Love die

Layered the  "Love" shape  using glitter foam and pattern paper and added heart shaped lock and key from the  new " Mix and Match " die set.

I hope you liked my project .
Stay safe.

Puzzle Shaped Home Decor

Hi friends...sharing a mixed media project in the  shape of a Puzzle which I made as a birthday present for my husband who loves gardening, flowers and birds!

I made it with the  new MDF Puzzle from Crealies which is a very large puzzle and has  lots of room to express your creativity!

I painted the  Puzzle with a coat of gesso and decoupaged spring themed elements from a paper napkin onto it

Applied a brick stencil design using crackle texture paste and stamped a chicken wire design in the  gaps of my design

Made flowers to match the  design on the  paper using circles!

Added cute little birds behind the  flowers!

And of course I had to add my favourite sentiment die from Crealies  "Smile" on a banner. I used the  Crealies  sticker sheets to die cut the  smile...the  sticker sheets are so useful to diecut and stick delicate diecuts such as the  text dies.

I added the  new Crealies  gear dies here and there both inside the  design and on the  back of the  puzzle.

Added tiny pearls at various places for a lovely texture

The cheerful bow from Crealies  is never out of place!!

Stringed some tassels on a leafy ribbon to finish of the  Puzzle

The whole piece can hang using a metal and satin handle which is actually a handbag handle!

I hope you liked this project.

Floral Easel Card

Hi friends sharing an Easel card I made with Crealies  dies featuring handmade  foamiran poinsettias ,and  various mixed media elements including handmade resin doves.

I love making flowers using foamiran and usually most flowers are time consuming but these were super simple to make...just die cutting , inking the  centers , adding the  pollen and topping off with a sprinkling of glitter.

I love how I can mix and match the  nesting dies of Crealies  as they all fit perfectly together. In this card I used 4 types of circle dies sets and the die cuts from all these sets coordinate perfectly!

I made the  cute doves using resin and a Martha Stewart silicon mould.

Added tiny white and pink "flower pearls" inside the  circles...these always add a lovely texture to a project!

Added "Celebrate" as the  sentiment and a tiny resin bow to finish it off!

I hope you liked my card. Here are the  supplies used

Altered Bottle

Altered Bottle
Hi friends sharing a special DT project for  Cuttlebugmania  Challenge  " Summer ". This project is very dear to me as I have tried to capture memories of  our family's summer holidays to the beach and depict them on a bottle !
Bottle Art
Beaches and bottles always go together don't they so hehe I altered a bottle for my project!
Altered Bottle
After a liberal coat of gesso I  used Finnabair white crackle paste through Scrapberry's Dotted Pattern Stencil on different parts of the bottle to depict the foam of the sea!!

Stenciling
I love this crackle paste...it is so easy to use! Here is another project using it : Mixed Media Altered Book Tutorial

Crackle Paste
For the "ocean waves" I stencilled  Ranger's texture paste through Carabelle Studio Geometrie 1 stencil
Mixed Media Altered Bottle
This is one of my favourite stencil designs and here is another project showcasing it : Mixed Media Box Tutorial
Stenciling
I like bright cheerful project so used a pastel blue paint to ink up the bottle.

Altered Bottle
One of our favourite activities as a family whenever we visit a beach is to collect sea shells and so I just had to add this sentiment stamp saying " To find a seashell is to find a world of imagination". I made the frame using Sakura air drying clay and a mould.

Altered Bottle
The lid of the bottle has sea gulls, a tiny bottle, shells, crystals and pearls...in fact all the treasures of the ocean with a liberal dusting of sparkling dust!!!
Altered Bottle
One of my most memorable summer holidays was to Goa beach and one of the highlights of that trip was the thrill of seeing dolphins swimming in the ocean!!!
Altered Bottle
On another summer holiday ...to my home in Kerala...all of us got a chance to steer a large boat...and hence I added a wheel [ a joyrcrafts die cut inked with Distress Inks  and jazzed up with rainbow glitter]!!
Altered Bottle
I also used clay to make star fishes ...to depict yet another holiday memory from Goa....being able to touch star fish!
Altered Bottle
I added corals we got from Langkawi beach ...an amazing serene beach in Malaysia
Altered Bottle

Altered Bottle
The shells are from my treasure trove ...shells collected over the years from beach holidays!
Altered Bottle
Couldnt resist adding a gorgeous lace and a large crystal heart!
Altered Bottle
The "treasures of the ocean" is a stamp heat embossed in gold, die cut and dressed up with crackle paste!
Altered Bottle
This side has " the voice of the sea speaks to the soul"!
Altered Bottle
The sand dollar  is a real one ...collected from Goa beach!
Altered Bottle
This side of the bottle  has leaping dolphins and a compass to guide us in journeys yet to come!
