Dear friends Thank you so much for the morale boosting comments on the handmade rose photoframe..... I was so unsure about the colors in that project! Sharing yet another project made with corrugated paper - a dresser box with  a strawberry garden!

          This is my Guest DT post for Tuesday Throwdown using a super sweet digital image from  "A day for daisies" I colored the sweet fairy and strawberry fruit cake with Staedtler watercolor pencils and used an "Artline" Metallic silver pen to highlight the cake outline and strawberry spots. I gave a shimmer to the fairy's pink dress by applying pink glitter glue over watercolors.

I used puffy paint over the frills of the little fairy's dress and on the yellow fruity gems on the cake.If you have never used puffy paint ,you must - I guarantee that seeing the paint puff up on heating is sure to delight the child in each of us!! Clay Strawberries

Propped up the image on a grassy platform made by layering nesting ovals on foam tape and adding bits of grass all around.Made some felt flowers with chunky glitter centers to add to the magic of the fairy's strawberry garden!

The challenge at Tuesday Throwdown requires using 1 image, 2 papers [I interpreted as 2 types of papers- corrugated and pattern paper ] and 3 flowers. My 3 handmade felt flowers are on the 3 sides of my drawer box.

The green corrugated paper tube behind the image serves a dual purpose- it helps prop up the image securely and also serves as a pen holder!

Clay Strawberries

What is fairyland without a little elf joining the fairy for tea! The cute elf is a bit of recycling [ salvaged from my daughter's broken hair-clip!] and the bronze kettle is a charm from Crafters Corner.

My little girl helped me make the clay strawberries from Amos clay - these dry super-light and non-sticky and hence are ideal for paper-crafts! [You can also see clay strawberries in this Punchart Photoframe].Made the trellis for the strawberries by using 3 die-cut layers and adding lots of stamped leaves.

The collage below shows how I made the shaped dresser box.The outer framework of this drawer box is a cardboard box which I recycled by lining with corrugated paper. I used thick Ivory card to make a  draw to fit inside it  by doing a lot of measuring and designing using my scorpal!

I didnt have a cute knob to use on my draw so secured a foam bow with a brad to the draw to help pull the draw out easily.

Shaped Box

My regular readers will know I am a big fan of foam.In this project , I used foam as the dresser knob as unlike paper it can handle quite a bit of squishing and rough handling . This dresser is going to be used by  my little girl !
