Handmade flowers |
Dear friends Thank you so much for the love showered on my
Paper Flower Romance and my little girl's
Scroll Party Invitation Cards...blogger pals are the best!!
Sharing yet another card with
handmade flowers.
|
Handmade flowers |
I used Kraft card as the base of this Floral card layered with pattern paper [you can see just a peek of brown stripes!] and Spellbinder die cuts[inked with peeled paint distress ink and water sprayed].Peeking through the frame you can just make out the
brick embossed "kraft" card which serves as a lovely backdrop for my handmade flowers.
|
Handmade flowers |
The leaves are
stamped[Heartfelt creations],
die cut [with Spellbinder Class leaf die] and
sponged with distress ink[peeled paint].The
Cheery Lynn butterfly is an all time favorite and after investing in a metal adapter plate I no longer have issues die cutting it!! The metal bird cage charm hangs on a wire stuck in a wooden bead.

Paper flower tutorial |
Materials
- Cheery Lynn Sunflower Die - This is such a versatile die and you can see "non sunflower" flowers I made with this die in my Mothers Day Card and in Paper Flower Romance
- Glue and Scissors
- Optional Tools : Embossing Pad ,Embossing Tool and Slotted Quilling tool
|
Paper Flower tutorial |
I used
3 die cut sunflowers to make one fluffy daisy.
Cut out the center of each flower as shown in the picture of the flower tutorial
|
Paper Flower tutorial |
Apply glue on the center of the flower as shown and use your hand or a slotted quilling tool to
roll it into a bud.
|
Paper Flower tutorial |
Apply
glue on the 2nd flower and roll it firmly around the bud you had already made .
|
Paper Flower tutorial |
You can add the 3rd die cut flower in the same way or
as a variation emboss the 3rd flower by running the embossing tool from the edge towards the center of each petal[this manoeuvre gives a deep cup shaped flower] and inverting it before applying glue and rolling it around the flower shape you had already made
|
Paper Flower tutorial |
I inked my flower petal tips with victorian velvet distress ink and sprayed with water to get a more natural blend of colors

I really debated whether I should share this flower tutorial since its for a specific die which my readers may or maynot have.I finally decided the flower tutorial may help serve as an inspiration to experiment with your dies/punches and discover more uses.Maybe like me when you discover myriad uses for a particular product [see
Porcelain tutorial ] ,
it helps a teeny bit to justify spending on crafty goodies [Wink**Wink **]!!
