Hi friends....sharing a mini Tutorial to make these fun mini snowman shakers which you can use as mini note-cards, tags, bookmarks, ornaments or even as fridge magnets...

In short they are so cute you can use them to make so many different handmade gifts for the  festive season! 

My daughter loves them but I am not sure she is going to gift them hehe!

Mini Snowman Shaker Cards

I used the   Crealies snowman die [ which you have seen in these posts : Snowman Snowscape card, DIY Snowman Ornament, Snowman Circle Card, 3 D Christmas Card] to quickly make these little snowmen by mixing and matching colors. The hats are made out of shiny black glitter foam and I mixed different pattern papers to make the  scarves.

Use circle dies to create the shaker bodies for the  snowmen.  I used Crea-nestlies XXL Circle dies from Crealies but you can also hand-cut the  circles...die cutting just makes your job super easy.

Tape 2 cirle dies as shown to die cut circle frames of a reasonable width.

You can use double sided adhesive foam or die cut 2 foam discs to create the wall for your shaker. 

Also cut a circular frame in paper to layer atop.

This is how your shaker wall will look with the layers glued on top of each other.Cut an acetate circle and sandwich it between your foam disc wall and the  paper disc as shown below.

Also cut a solid circle from pattern paper and cardstock for the base of your shaker.

So here are the  parts of your shaker snowman: circular foam frames with

acetate sandwiched and base circles.

I added a silver glitter foam snowflake to the base of the shaker. Add glitter balls, styrofoam snow balls, tiny stars or whatever else you fancy inside your shaker.

I love traditional Christmas Colors but you can go crazy and make flamingo pink shakers too!

Crafty Tip : Don't be tempted to add too many shaker elements in your shaker or it will not shake nicely!

Glue the base over the shaker and let it dry nicely.

Finally glue on your snowman on to its shaker body and voila you have your shaker snowman !

I add a backing so that my snowmen could stand.

You could add jumbo paper clips,magnets or ribbon hangers to them and use them in different ways.

Hi crafters. I know you will agree with me when I say it feels good to be able to stretch our supplies isn't it ! I created this folio / folder  by tweaking the  die-cut shapes from a Crealies  tag die [Crealies Big Labelzz and Tagzz No.16 ]

I made the dimensional paper flowers using Crealies  dies and really thick card stock so that they won't be squished when the  folio is handled!The leaves are holly leaves inked, shaped and glittered to give a beautiful look.

The  closure of the album is magnetic and made with Crealies tag dies, a blingy heart and backed by a lacy flower die cut.

Can you see the flower pearls  on the  base...they add such a lovely texture!

Here is the look when you open the latch...

a dual panel which opens out further into a triplet.

The upper flaps which are magnetic open up to reveal the design underneath.

The beautiful On the edge dies from Crealies are so eye catching!

Here is the  top trio with a pocket inside to hold notes, tags, recipes, to do lists etc.

Rather than give a full fledged Tutorial, I am sharing the salient steps so that you can adapt the  Tutorial to any  large dies in your collection  or you can even use the  idea for hand-cut shapes

Die cut 6 tags from fairly thick cardstock using the biggest die in the

Crealies Big Labelzz and Tagzz No.16

Die cut 12 tags from pattern paper from the next size smaller tag from the same set.

Just to get a unique symmetrical shape, I have shaped the lower part of all the  tags

using on the edge die cutting as shown below.

Create Flaps

Die cut 3 smaller shapes from card stock using the largest tag die

and 6 smaller shapes from pattern paper using the  next smaller size die.

Here is how you can place the  die cut shape on the  edge of the die to create a new shape!

It is best to tape it so that it doesn't move while die cutting.

You need 3 flap pieces cut from card stock and  6 flap pieces cut from pattern paper pieces to stick on either side of the  card stock flap pieces.

Make connecting strips using card stock as long as your tag at the middle part and
about 6 ^1/2  x  1  ^3/8  inch  and  6 ^1/2   x 1  ^5/8   inch.
Score ½ inch from either end as shown. 

You can increase or decrease the middle width depending on the  thickness of your folio.
If you going to add many tags...increase the width in between
the outer 1/2 inch scores in both the strips

Create strips to connect the flaps to the base tags using

approx 6 cm x 1 ^1/8   inch [I used a mix of  centimeters and inches as it gave

the most accurate measurement in  this particular case....

you can adapt to suit your design]. Score 1/2 inch from either end.

To connect the 3 upper tags to the  3 lower tags:

Take 3 cardstock strips 6 cm  x 1 inch and score at 1/2 inch [in the  center]

You can add magnets to the  inside of the  flap if you wish. Do so before sticking the pattern paper. And this is how it will look after adding the pattern paper

You can use these as mini planners, recipe booklet, add special photos or you can add notebooks, pens etc inside each panel and adjust the  measurements accordingly.

Hi friends, Thank you so much for the  warms words of welcome in my last post on a Beach Ball Spinner Card. Sharing another version of the  Spinning Ball Card...this time I added sneakers and a T shirt and stenciled on a net and some bricks. Once again I have used dies, stamps and stencils from Crealies  .

Spinning Beach Ball Card Tutorial

Hi friends , it feels so good to be back on my blog after a long sabbatical. My daughter had vacations in April - May and life was even more busier in June that blogging took a backseat.

We went for a vacation to an island resort in the  Maldives and it was simply the  best holiday ever with lots of fun on the beach and in the  water, swimming and snorkeling and really being in tune with nature as the  pristine waters of the  Maldives are simply fabulous for marine life.

This card reminds me of a lovely beach holiday and it is a special interactive card.

I used the  big ball die from Crealies  and lots of other Crealies  dies to make this fun interactive "Spinner Ball" Card.

The embellishments are all buttons I had hoarded for years waiting for the  right project!

The Beach ball on the  card spins on a wooden skewer stick!

And in the  picture below you can see it horizontal.

And here is an updated version specifically to make a Spinning Ball Card

Here is how you can make the  spinning card mechanism:

Materials Required

Crealies Ball Die Cardzz No .14 

Cardstock : One A 4 card- fold in half, 2 pieces of 1 x 1 inch card, One card 8 x 4 inches

Craft Knife/Scissors

Skewer stick- at least 2 inches longer than the  ball

Adhesive : Liquid Glue, Adhesive tape

You need 2 ball shapes...my beach balls are made with Crealies  dies[Crealies  Ball Die Cardzz No .14] and are pretty big.

Fold an A 4 card in half and place the  ball [half the  ball]on the  folded edge as shown above.

Mark the  semicircle around the  ball.

Die cut or hand-cut out an aperture on the  folded edge of the  A 4 card in such a way that there is at least a 1/4 inch margin around the  ball when you place it as shown above

Glue a skewer stick in the  center of the  ball using adhesive tape and strong wet glue.

Stick the  other ball on top and hold with clips till the  glue dries

Open the  folded A 4 card and place the  ball with the  stick in the  center of the

aperture so that the stick lies in the  groove of the fold.

Score and fold the

two 1 x 1 inch card strips every 1/4th inch to get an M shape.

Stick the  outer arms of this "M" on either side of the  skewer stick in such a way

that the stick can move freely inside the  groove.

Do this on both sides so that the  ball can swing and spin freely.

Optionally add a base using an 8 x 4 inch card scored and folded every inch.

Fold in such a way as to get a W as shown above and stick the  2 outer arms of the W

on the  base of the  folded A 4 card as shown above and below
