Paper Purse Tutorial |
Hi friends first of all Wish you a very Happy New Year! Sharing a super easy paper-craft idea.....cute mini purses! These mini purses are made using Crealies dies with just cardstock and pretty pattern papers.
Paper Purse Tutorial |
I sized the purses to hold Visiting/ID/Gift cards but they are useful to hold little gifts or chocolates as well.
Paper Purse Tutorial |
Here is how you can make these Paper Purses easily
Paper Purse Tutorial |
I used the 2nd largest die from the Crealies
Big Labelzz and Tagzz No.13 die set to die cut the base from thick cardstock.
Align the die-cut as shown and score at 2 ½
and 3 inches and then at 5 ½ and 6 inches
Paper Purse Tutorial |
Fold along the scorelines and you can see your purse taking shape!
Paper Purse Tutorial |
Decorate the outside of your purse with pattern paper . I used the smaller die from same Crealies die set to cut the flap part from pattern paper.
Paper Purse Tutorial |
These purses are accordion purses and you can make the accordion sides using 2 strips of card stock measuring 6 x 2 inches and scoring every ½ inch and accordion folding them.
Paper Purse Tutorial |
Here is what you will need to make the inside of the purse
- 2 tiny magnets- position them making sure you have the poles of the magnets aligned correctly.
- Pattern paper - optional
- Ribbon/Twine for a handle - optional
Paper Purse Tutorial |
Stick the accordions on the sides as shown on the back of the purse
Paper Purse Tutorial |
Once the accordions have stuck firmly stick the other end to the front of the purse.
Paper Purse Tutorial |
Line the inside with pattern paper - trimming the paper to fit snugly inside the accordions.
Paper Purse Tutorial |
Add an optional ribbon handle for your purse. I threaded the ribbon through eyelets and adhered the ribbon on the inside for a nice finishing touch.
Paper Purse Tutorial |
And your little mini paper purse is ready!
I hope you liked this idea!

Dear Dr Sonia
ReplyDeleteA very happy New Year filled with good health and happiness is my wish for you and your family. Please wish your mum as well.
Wow this is lovely as always. can it be done without a die cut. I now have a cuttlebug machine so cutting is easy but i have to learn to be precise. with love and gratitude as always
