Book Shaped Card

Book Shaped Card
Hi friends I feel somewhat embarrassed to post this card as the lighting was so poor when I took this photo and the card itself did not turn out to my expectations at all!
If you like making shaped cards this book shaped card is pretty easy to make and here is the tutorial link : Easy Book Shaped Card tutorial
Book Shaped Card

I do like the individual elements such as the fringed flower I made using the Memory Box Fringe border die as in this tutorial : Simple Flower tutorial . The leaves are Cheery Lynn  leaves inked with Shabby Shutters and the cute flower on the corner is a Jesse James Button.  I added zig zag glitter border on the borders of my "book"
Book Shaped Card
I used a Memory Box die to cut the " Thank you " from silver glitter foam and added it to the book spine. Also added a "Thank you" sticker in a frame with a fluttering silver butterfly
Book Shaped Card
I am trying to figure out why I don't really like this card...maybe its the bold pattern paper I used as the background or maybe its because I dint really spend a lot of time making this one!! [I can sometimes take days to complete a card! ]Well what do you think ....?
Supplies : Dies :  Cheery Lynn  Exotic Butterfly Large, Cheery Lynn  tiny things with wings  , Cheery Lynn  flourish leaf strip  , Cheery Lynn  Butterfly small, Cheery Lynn Build A Flower Embellishments 3

  2. It's unique and yet looks like it would take me days to complete. Lovely details and pretty creation to it....

  3. A garden of delight creation with all the floral embellishment & such. We are our biggest critics. I posted a Tim Holtz Tag this morn and I spent a lot of time on it but know that I could have done better; such as the short piece of pumpkin vine that was not easy to fussy cut should not be all brown like the pumpkin stem and instead have green.

  4. Your photos look good to me Sonia. It's a very unusual shaped card which gives nice interest and the design and all the pretty elements is like summer in a card.

  12. Sonia, your card is beautiful! I love the boldness paired with the whimsical butterfly and flowers... it brings a smile to the heart, which is really all that matters. :o) I hope you like it better after you've stepped away from it for a while. We are absolutely our worst critics, seeing every 'flaw' instead of the beauty. I had such little time for my Friday post and didn't love the result, but anything made with our hands and hearts is something that should be treasured, regardless of simplicity or if things just didn't come together as envisioned. :o) A hard lesson to learn. Have a beautiful weekend, my friend!

    Hugs and blessings,
    Karen
