Hanging Decoration |
Hi friends sharing a romantic hanging decoration with
hearts and
roses and
frilly bows ! Went with a color scheme of turquoise blue, lime green and coral red bordering on pink in places!
Recycling gives me a big kick and for this project I recycled an used up adhesive tape roll to make the top most part of the 3 tiered valentine decoration [ which I wanted to be sturdy and dimensional].
|
Tape Roll recycling |
Made a hole on the tape roll using a crop a dile and inserted an eyelet to strengthen the hole. Threaded a pearl string through the eyelet and lined the tape roll with a golden organza ribbon .
|
Tape Roll recycling |
Hot glued a ribbon inside it and sealed the tape roll with embossed scalloped circles on the front and back.
|
3 D decoupaged Stamped Rose |
I stamped and heat embossed in gold
5 roses from the
Winnie and Walter In Bloom Elsa's Flora Clear Stamp Set .Water-colored each stamped flower and cut them up in pyramage fashion to make the 3 D rose. Here is the tutorial to make a 3 D Stamped Rose :
3 D Decoupage tutorial
|
3 D stamped Rose |
Mounted the rose on an
aqua water-colored card stock embossed with a woven folder. The edges of the circle were dipped in versamark and heat embossed gold. It was a lot of work but I do love the 3 D look !
|
Heart Decoration |
The 2nd element of my hanging ornament has a staggering 6 layers of hearts [ made using Nellie Snellen and Spellbinders dies ]popped on foam tape to create sturdiness and dimension!
|
Valentine Decoration |
The lime green hearts were cut from parchment paper and the edges dusted with distress glitter for a subtle shimmer. My cupid rests on a bed of dozens of punched flowers!
|
Valentine Decoration |
For the 3rd and last element I went all romantic with 6 layers of hearts glamorized with golden arrows and wings. The jeweled heart in 2 layers was heat embossed in gold, water-colored a coral red and crowned with a resin crown!
|
Heart Hanging Decoration |
The beautiful green pendant hanging from the hearts is from a broken earring ! [ recycling favorite pieces of broken jewelry gives me such a high!]
|
Valentine Decoration |
Making this elaborate decoration was a labour of love indeed but totally worth it as it was made for my hubby and daughter!
We all have used up tape rolls we throw away/ hoard and I hope you like my recycling idea !
