Step Card |
Hi friends Thank you so much for encouraging my attempts at stamping and CAS! Deeply appreciated...now back to my normal style of cards...multi-layered and 3 D! Another step card similar to my fist
Stepping Blocks Card
I made this card in purple to support Becca's
Hop to Stop Domestic Violence Awareness campaign
|
Alcohol Inks |
Since I didnt have purple card-stock ,I used blue colored metallic card stock and red Alcohol Inks to create a purple colored paper!
|
Alcohol Inks + Embossing |
Used the WRMK woven embossing folder to create a basket weave pattern. Cut up my customized paper into scalloped squares for some of the blocks on my card.
|
Step Card |
In this post I want to focus on children...anyone who has been through domestic violence will agree that often children are the hardest hit...it leaves huge psychological scars on little minds. Many a times the unfortunate woman stays in the domestic abuse situation because of the children....lacking confidence to leave the situation , afraid of the future for the "
sake" of her children..!
|
Step Card |
I want to reach out to anyone who is suffering from domestic violence or anyone who knows a victim of domestic violence......It is often best for the children to leave such a violent environment. In societies such as India ...many a times the relatives, the friends and even the parents of the woman advice her to stay in the marriage "
for the sake of the child/children" Nothing could be more wrong....
|
Alcohol Inks Card |
Let yourself and your children be free .....
|
Clay Butterfly |
Free like a butterfly....
|
Step Card |
Children don't deserve to live in fear ...wondering when the father is going to beat their mother up or themselves! Help the children be free to enjoy their childhood
|
Fairy Card |
I added all the little fairy children on my card to symbolize that children in such families need to be set free
|
Fairy Theme Step Card |
And this photo shows how this style of step card can fold flat for mailing

ReplyDeleteOooh...this turned out really pretty!
ReplyDeleteSonia, you have taken the issue of Domestic Violence on a new level, can't agree with you more, yes the children are the most affected in such situations. Today morning saw a news report where the father killed a small girl of two years as he suspected his wife. Our society takes any act of violence towards women as a non-issue and therein lies the problem. But there is no easy solution, the society has to correct its mindset and every small act of healing and support counts !!
ReplyDeleteSuman yes my heart goes out to the unfortunate women and their helpless children and such issues are rampant in all strata of society.
DeleteYour stepping blocks card is positively stunning, and I love all the symbolism!! This truly captures how freeing it is to escape domestic violence. Thank you for sharing your creativity and talents with all of us and for helping to raise awareness for domestic violence. Sending you hugs from across the miles! ~Carolyn :)
